This year I joined the Portland Modern Quilt Guild. I have been to two meetings so far, and I come home super-inspired! They usually feature some sort of tutorial on quilting practices (In February I learned how to do English Paper Piecing) as well as a show and tell where members show their work, and ways to further connect with the national modern quilt guild. The group is huge, I think over 100 people come to the meetings and there are creative people of all ages, genders, and walks of life. At the March meeting we were given some of Michael Miller’s neon fabric and instructed to make a 12″ quilt block to bring to April’s meeting. You can see some of the other blocks people are making here. Here is my 12″ block!
